A mobile hyperbaric oxygen chamber is a specialized medical device used for hyperbaric oxygen therapy. Depending on the pressurizing medium, it can be categorized into air-compression chambers and pure-oxygen-compression chambers. Mobile hyperbaric oxygen chambers have a wide range of applications, primarily used in the treatment of anaerobic bacterial infections, air embolism, decompression sickness, hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy, traumatic brain injury, and cerebrovascular diseases. Below is a brief introduction to mobile hyperbaric oxygen chambers:
It typically consists of a cabin, an air supply system, and an exhaust system. The system consists of an oxygen supply system, an air-conditioning system, and a control system. The pressurizing medium is either air or medical oxygen. The working pressure for air pressurization does not exceed 0.3 MPa, while the working pressure for oxygen pressurization does not exceed 0.2 MPa. Air pressurization systems are categorized into single-person hyperbaric chambers and multi-person hyperbaric chambers, depending on the number of patients undergoing treatment inside the chamber. There is typically one oxygen-compression chamber per chamber; these chambers are generally divided into adult medical oxygen chambers and infant (including newborn) medical oxygen chambers.

The working principle of an in-vehicle hyperbaric oxygen chamber: Oxygen is carried by the blood. When oxygen enters the lungs, it immediately dissolves into the bloodstream. This dissolution process is similar to dissolving a spoonful of sugar in water—quickly and completely. In healthy individuals, the amount of dissolved oxygen in the blood is related to the ambient pressure. We live in an environment at atmospheric pressure, because the oxygen in the air is only... 1/5, the amount of dissolved oxygen in human blood is very low and cannot meet the body’s needs. Oxygen easily enters red blood cells and is transported along with their movement.
There is very little oxygen dissolved in the blood, yet it plays a crucial role. Since red blood cells carry several times more oxygen than that dissolved in the blood, healthy individuals can meet their oxygen demands for transportation. Multiple experiments have concluded that the amount of dissolved oxygen in the blood within a hyperbaric oxygen chamber increases as the pressure inside the chamber rises. In After inhaling pure oxygen in a 2-atmosphere oxygen chamber, the amount of dissolved oxygen in the blood increased by a factor of 14; at 3 atmospheres, it increased by a factor of 21.
